KENTUCKY CORONER: WRONG-WAY DRIVER IN FATAL CRASH OF THE ABBAS FAMILY WAS DRUNK
The driver involved with the accident that killed the five members of the Abbas family: Isaam, Rima, Ali, Isabella, and Giselle, was found to be drunk. The pickup truck that was operated Joey Bailey of Georgetown, Kentucky, struck the Abbas family's SUV while heading southbound in the northbound lanes of I-75 in the early morning hours of January 6, 2019. A statement from the Fayette County Coroner provided that Mr. Bailey had a Blood Alcohol Content of .306, more than three times the legal limit.
